InterviewGuru ("we", "us") provides the InterviewGuru website (interviewguru.in) and the InterviewGuru desktop apps for macOS and Windows. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. InterviewGuru is operated by QYOTECH LLP, India, which is responsible for your information as described here. Contact: support@interviewguru.in.
Information we collect
- Account: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your Google profile photo. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store them.
- Sign-in details: when you sign up or sign in, we record your IP address, approximate country, browser and device type, and time zone, to secure accounts and prevent abuse of free trials.
- Interview sessions you save: the company, role, job description, resume text and notes you enter on the website.
- Licenses and devices: your license key, a random device identifier and your computer's name for each activated device, and how much of your free trial you have used.
- Payments: your plan, amount, currency, order status and, in India, the phone number given at checkout. For subscriptions outside India we also receive a Paddle customer and subscription identifier and the subscription's status and renewal date. Card, UPI, PayPal and bank details are entered directly with the payment provider; we do not receive or store them.
- AI requests: when you ask for an answer, the desktop app sends your question, a short excerpt of the recent transcript, your resume context and answer preferences (if provided), the selected mode and language, and a screenshot if you take one.
Google user data
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from your Google account. We use them only to create and identify your InterviewGuru account and to show your name and photo in your dashboard. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts. We do not sell Google user data, share it with third parties except the service providers listed below to run the service, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. You can remove InterviewGuru's access at any time from your Google Account's security settings, and ask us to delete your data as described below. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Audio, transcripts and screenshots
- macOS: the interviewer's audio (and the microphone when used on its own) is turned into text by Apple's speech recognition, on your Mac where it supports this, otherwise on Apple's servers under Apple's privacy policy. When your Mac's audio is being captured at the same time, your microphone speech is sent as short audio clips to our server to be turned into text (as on Windows) and is not stored.
- Windows: each stretch of speech is sent as a short audio clip to our server, which passes it to an AI provider (listed below) to be turned into text and returns the text to the app. We do not store the audio or the text.
- The transcript is kept on your device; only the short excerpt described above is sent when you request an answer.
- Screenshots are taken only when you press the screenshot button. They are sent with your request to the AI provider to generate an answer and are not stored by us.
How we use information
- To provide the service: accounts, interview sessions, AI answers and license activation.
- To process payments and issue licenses.
- To secure the service, limit abuse (for example, repeated free trials) and control AI costs.
- To respond to support requests.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Service providers we share information with
- Google Firebase (hosting, authentication and database), in the United States.
- Google Analytics (through Firebase): how visitors use the website, such as pages viewed, sign-ups, downloads and purchases, with the device, browser and approximate location. We don't send your name, email address or license keys to it.
- Meta (the Meta Pixel): when you visit the website, sign up, start a checkout or buy, Meta receives that event with your browser and device details, so we can measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta processes it under its own privacy policy; you can manage ad preferences in your Meta account.
- AI providers that generate answers and transcribe Windows audio clips: Google (Gemini API), Groq and OpenAI. Requests are sent to one provider at a time.
- Payment providers: Cashfree Payments (India), and Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record for orders outside India. Paddle collects your name, email, country and payment details to sell you the subscription and handle tax, under its own privacy policy.
These providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Cookies and local storage
The website uses your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to remember your profile, and Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages and links bring visitors, and the Meta Pixel's cookies to measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Pages load fonts and scripts from third-party services (such as Google Fonts and our payment provider), which receive your IP address when they serve these files.
How long we keep information
We keep account, session and license information while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days, except payment records that we must keep for tax and accounting law.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@interviewguru.in. You can delete saved interview sessions yourself in your dashboard. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, India or California), you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Children
InterviewGuru is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. For significant changes, we will notify account holders by email.
